Excellent hotel for group events!! We hosted a very large, several day long event for about 80 to 100 people in Newhall with the Lexen being our center of operations. The style of the hotel was perfect - a little bit cowboy/wild west, a little bit futuristic, with lots of attention to detail. Prior to booking the management was incredibly kind and generous with their time, taking us on several tours of the hotel, answering about a million questions and giving us a really nice group rate. We rented the Penthouse as staff housing for the event and it was big enough to also serve as a hospitality suite. We also used the meeting room, the 2nd floor bar and the third floor patio for various parts of the event - all three spaces were accommodating, comfortable, clean and spacious. The staff was all friendly and helpful, especially the manager, assistant manager and the bartender, who worked to make sure our guests were having fun and had everything they needed. The bar was able to serve some personalized drinks for our event and it put a very special touch on the weekend.
The location is within walking distance to restaurants and shopping and Hart Park, which made things like a picnic breakfast in the park or a tour of the historic train depot for our guests very easy. The hotel is also close to the actual, modern train (which makes it easy to arrive from Burbank air port) and while this did wake me up on the first night, I turned on a fan for some white noice the next night and had no issues with outside noise.
We had a wonderful time here, our guests were happy and we were able to host a meaningful event at the Lexen on a modest budget. Highly recommended for other small groups to do the same.

We are surprised at the positive reviews here. We get to our room and the floors are bubbling beneath our feet. The fake laminate wood was so poorly installed, you’re walking on huge air pockets for your entire stay.
We then noticed a strong smell of artificial flowers coming from the bed, which unfortunately lingered throughout our sleep.
The decor is nice overall. We liked the faux brick wall and the furniture and colour scheme. However, the shower curtain might be the ugliest ever made - cowboy boots and cows, with the words “cowgirl” and “the world needs more cowboys” written on it. I mean… Really?
Then there was the noise. They did leave us earplugs and a white noise machine, but no one warned us when we checked in. Our room was unexpectedly right next to a busy road and the train, which ran all night and sometimes sounded like it would come right through the wall itself. The bed was comfortable enough, but with all that noise, we could not sleep.
Lastly, the hotel has two parking spaces for electric cars, but only one plug.
Perhaps other rooms do not have the issues we had in ours, but based on our experience we will not be returning.

The hotel is super cute, decorated so beautifully and uniquely and all of the cutest and expert small to larger touches. There is a free breakfast but not hot food which is totally fine. They have a cute outdoor patio where you can get a drink and enjoy the outdoor weather. Safe neighborhood, our car was ok in their garage and nearby restaurants and shops were nice.

My husband & I enjoyed our stay at the Lexen. Our room was very clean & cozy. The king size bed was exceptionally comfortable & the large shower had plenty of hot water & toiletries provided. Truly enjoyed this place & would highly recommend.

Very comfortable property for business and vacationing with comfortable rooms,wifi and great complimentary breakfast.
Parking next to the hotel outside or the underground garage which has an entrance right into the main lobby.
Evening offers a nice quite lounge on the 2nd.flr. for drinks or meeting , then it's an easy 5 minute walk to Main St.for a number of choices for dinner.
One of the best stays for the money I have experienced for business travel in some time.
It's worth the time to explore and consider this proposrty on your next road trip. Ask for AJ at the front desk if you check-in he was very helpful throughout my 4 day stay which I booked another 4 days coming up in May 2026.
