I've been hearing about this place for a while and finally went in today for lunch. I went at an off time, just after lunch so I could see how things go in the down time. The place was clean, and we got smiles and a conversation as soon as we walked in from Jen. She was very helpful, gave us samples of some of the taps and told us to have a seat, if we needed, to take in the whole menu, which was extensive! We landed on a 3 meat trio and a couple of taps. We got pulled pork, brisket and chicken, beans and Mac & cheese. We didn't wait too long and it came out fresh and hot! We got a sampling of all their sauces and. I prefer the spicy BBQ, but they were all good. The Carolina sauce was surprisingly what a Carolina sauce should be like, but a bit better! We were pleasantly pleased with our food and Jen came by a few times to make sure we were good. A great conversationalist, we chatted and enjoyed our food. It was a super hot day, but nice & cool inside. Lots of screens for games, a group section for large parties and a little video game area with foosball, darts and some arcade games made it a well balanced place. Overall, the food was good, atmosphere was good and we will definitely be back. No table service from a server, but they came by to make sure we had all we needed. A good experience for sure.

Soooo Help me to decide:
Their beef brisket is wonderfully succulent, tender, flavorful
Their tri-tip is also wonderfully succulent, tender, flavorful.
Y'all go try both and tell me your vote. I'm torn because I love both. Let me know your Vote so i can give 5 stars for food. I'm at 4 because I Can't decide. I neeeed your help folks.

I am going to preface this review with two points: One, I understand that this is a difficult economic time for small businesses like restaurants. Two, I also understand that staffing a restaurant fully can be challenging. With that being said, my dining experience tonight at Bullpen BBQ and taphouse was abysmally bad and the restaurant wasn't even half full of customers.
My family's order (2 people) came to almost $60. We ordered at the counter and were given a table tag. It took 25 minutes for the cashier/bartender to pour the one beer that I ordered. My son was given a glass to get his own drink at the soda fountain.
After waiting 45 minutes, our food was brought to the table. The garlic butter on our order of garlic fries had already congealed, making most of the fries soggy. I ordered the special house chili with beans and brisket on top. The chili was lukewarm and bland. Instead of the brisket I ordered, the chili was topped with tri-tip.
I think that working with a much smaller food menu would enable the pit master/chef and kitchen staff to focus on making a few really good BBQ items that could easily and quickly get assembled and served.
With lots of games available for kids to play, this restaurant seems to market itself as a great place for families. However, you can't have excessive wait times and poor quality food and achieve that objective.
