Been going to Universal Shoe Repair for years. Joe always does great work. Recently gave him a pair of 15 year old shoes (from my wedding). The rubber soles had cracked all the way through. Joe gave some options, and I ultimately decided to have him rebuild the shoes with leather soles. Just got them back and couldn’t be happier! They look brand new, and gave new life to my wedding shoes.

The man charged me $90 to attach 1" vibram lift (simple to glue to bottom of sandal--not the usual process to 'split' sole then reattach). Painful to walk (with walker) even though hip op planned for Jan 26, the cost for 3 months alleviate pain.
But the shop attached only 1/2" rubber requiring me to cut flip-flop attaching with rubber band which keeps breaking & is unsafe, a fall risk.
Yesterday went to shop for assistance (as surgery postponed) but instead of receiving any assistance to resolve the costly mistake (for senior disabled) he argued, lied saying he 'told me the difference in cost between 1/2" & 1" was $10 dollars, which is untrue (he came to car to show me the 'material' only; obviously any reasonable person would have agreed to add'l $10 to get required 1" to offset leg length discrepancy.
He was rude; made no attempt to solve issue, to cut another 1/2" & attach to existing 1/2" (simple solution).
Do not use this shop unless you have 'written' instructions as to height of discrepancy. We were shocked by his attitude.
Will request bank reversal of payment in order start over at a 'professional' shop.
